One of the biggest issues I’ve always had when doing any kind of work, whether it be my day to day job or working out, is keeping my brain from wondering away from what I am supposed to be focused on. Multitasking has always been a large way for me to counteract that. Typically, if I have more than one thing going at a time, I could counteract my mind straying away and losing focus on the tasks I needed done, by creating more than one task at a time. Two huge things that have become mainstays in helping me stay focused while working is music, and audio books. My brain can go on auto pilot when listening to something I enjoy, and focusing on how to work on the job at hand.
While I plan on using Audiobooks during my upcoming drive to lose weight, and better my personal wellbeing, music will play a much larger role. Anyone who’s known me for an extended period has learned how eclectic my music taste is and a lot of times often confused by it. If it has a good beat, I’ll listen to it, if it has a great story, or amazing visuals through lyrics, I will almost definitely fall in love with it. I find it very easy to become emotionally impacted by music, for the good and the worse.
When I was heavy into my walking routine, my playlist was a huge reason I pushed through each walk. As I’m getting ready to start into #Project150, I’ve been revisiting that playlist and removing and adding songs. In this post there will be a link to my workout playlist, titled “Adrenaline”, on Spotify. The songs on the list are in no particular order as I’ve always listened to it on random as it will. It is however not the complete list, as I use Amazon Music predominantly for my music, and the full list contains a a small number of Garth Brooks songs, which are not available on Spotify due to licensing.
Over the summer I plan to do some blog posts where I detail my love and eclectic taste of music, and share some stories as to how I fell in love with most all genres in my lifetime. Below is the full list of songs I have on my workout playlist, as well as a link to the Spotify version! Check it out and let me know what you think! I’m also open to suggestions of songs to add to the list.
