Life does this to us all. Sometimes I feel like its more often than nit, and none of which do I ever make contact with this. Wednesday morning however, I made contact and got on base. You see, I started #Project150 on Wednesday, and while I felt nothing really went right on that day in terms of normal every day life, one thing did. My first weigh in left me shellshocked.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have spent a large check of the last several months working on ways to lose weight once June 1st hit. I went days testing different foods, trying to see how my body felt after fasting, testing low calorie snacks through the work day, and dropping the amount of sugar intake I had. I switched to zero sugar pop back in January, and tried cutting back to one or 2 a day, on top of that. I still snuck normal soda here and there, but for the most part, Coke Zero, Unsweet Tea, and water have been my go-to. Without thinking about it, I was in effect already watching what I was putting into my body just by trying to formulate the routine I planned on putting into place!
This leads me to Wednesday morning, when I went to do my day one weigh in. You see, the last official weigh in I did was back in October/November and I was sitting at 385. To my surprise, when I stepped on the scale it read 364. Needless to say I did a double take, stepped off the scale, checked the settings, and got back on. 364.
I laughed. I realize in hindsight that I should have realized that I was technically already working on changing my eating habits and in effect, losing weight by doing testing for the last several months, but to see that I was currently 20 pounds less than what I was expecting, through me off. To be honest I had figured I had gone above 400.
But I still want to lose 150 pounds, so that just changes the goal weight from 250 to 200. Honestly, I don’t want to go below that because I think it’ll be right where I felt the healthiest while growing up. From this point forward, all weigh ins will be done on Friday mornings, starting 6/10. I plan to start incorporating social media posts about my journey Monday, as this will be the first day I start adding in the exercise portion. I’ll also starting making posts about the changes I’m making, the food and exercise schedule I will be attempting, as well as the tools I’ll be utilizing to do it. Every Friday will be an update blog!
For those who have reached out, I thank you and look forward to the next year!
