If you hopped over to the site on Tuesday to read about my upcoming #project150 and have been to the site before, you might notice I’m making some changes around these here parts. I’ve always wanted this space to be an online home for me. Whether it’s talking about new projects, showing off old ones, or talking about my new love of writing, a place to house everything about me under one metaphorical roof has always been the expectation of bnichols.me. So take a seat and let me walk through some changes
Design & Layout: If I am being 100% honest, I’m trying to make the site look and feel like an author’s official website. Some of my favorite authors have the best layouts for the type of site I’m wanting to convey. Personal updates, a place to show projects, and a way to connect. I’m also trying to come up with a brand ID for myself. A logo is too simple of a term, but in the end that’s more or less what I mean. I’ll be honest, I LOVE Brandon Sanderson’s S emblem he uses on his website and would love something similar.
MY THOUGHTS – As always this is the thoughts and ramblings i post on my blog space here. It’s a mix of talking about things going on in my life and retrospectives on my past and future. Music is a massive part of my life, and I plan on incorporating playlists in some posts, as well as try to maintain a 2 blog post a week schedule. I have reasons for this that I will get into in the coming weeks.
MY STUFF – Over the winter I was able to begin working on collecting all the artwork and designs I’ve made over the years from stripping some old hard drives. Kind of got excited about finding some stuff I made and displaying it. This will range anywhere from Corporate logos, race car to design, to some of my creative writing short stories.
CURRENT PROJECTS – A home to talk about all the major projects i have in the works. This will house blog post updates, as well as project profiles, and trackers to see how far I am on said projects.
MY STORES – I’ve been working on setting up some online stores with custom artwork for added income. These stores will be hosted on 3rd party websites for the time being, until I’m able to create and host my own store with in house stock.
HOW TO FIND ME – I’m heavily active online and on social media. I spent my childhood in the real world, and was able to experience the coming of age of the digital one. I’m also an active gamer who plays multiplayer games as well as single player games.
Trying to create healthy and fun habits is something i’ve always struggled with, but now that i am 40, i feel it’s time to try harder… i guess.
