I have a lot of projects I want to accomplish this year. I already mentioned writing something every day, and while I am technically writing this on the same day as yesterdays post, I wanted to get this out of the way sooner than later. I’ll still write something tomorrow today, but for now, I’m doing this. Bellow is my list of things I hope to have done by January 1st, 2020.
Podcasts
8 Bit Hero – My first new episode of 8 Bit Hero Podcast will be recorded next week, and released on Friday. I love talking about Video games, Superheroes, and other things geek culture. It works best when I have someone to talk with, because otherwise I ramble A LOT and always fall off topic. If any of this sounds interesting and you want to talk with me, hit me up. I’m also going to try and collaborate with other people who are already in this world of podcasting about the things I love.
New Comic Book Movie Podcast – I have a name, and I have a co-host. This will start in February, and I am SUPER excited about it. I’ll post more about this in the next couple weeks.
Writing
I already said I want to try and write EVERY DAY. So far this is number 2 for this day, but I plan on writing more.
Novellas – I want to fully write at least two novellas. I’m about a quarter of a way through one now, and hope to have it finished by July. It’s a part of a 3-part story that is WAY out of my comfort zone, but something I started to test myself. The second one I want to write is an intro to a story I’ve thought about for over 4 years, that I think would make an excellent line of young adult books.
Writing Competitions – I want to write and enter at minimal two writing contests before the year is over. I want to enter the Short-Short story I wrote last month into the same contest I missed this passed December, but also write two more.
Gaming
I want to start a monthly gaming competition. Honestly, I’m thinking board games, but it could be fun to do all types. Have some people over once a week, keep a scoreboard up on the wall or something. Or plan an online gaming night playing Call of Duty, Mario Kart, Fortnite, Smash Bros.
Sell Something
I want to create something, and sell it. More than likely a shirt design. My friend Billy, who owns Squints Apparel really inspired me over the last several years, and I would love to get something that was my own out into the world that people would want to own and display. I think the podcasts could be a good outlet for creating and distributing something like this, but we will see.
Play Guitar
I own about 4 guitars and one mandolin. I want to know how to play them. My main goal is to be able to play one song on an acoustic guitar before the year is out
Streamline this website
I think I’m going to add a project completion widget to the side bar and make sure it’s visible on the main page at all times. I also need to update my online portfolio FINALLY. Tired of talking about it but not doing it. A lot to do, and 365 days to do it. Happy New Year.
